The Gulf Power Training and Emergency Operations Center is a new 30,000 square foot facility. The building has a dual use. Primarily it will be a training facility and is equipped with state of the art presentation and media equipment for each training, conference, and assembly room. The second function of the building is a post-event emergency operations center. The building has amenities such as a large break room, catering kitchen, fitness room, and showers for both uses.
The building is designed to withstand 200 mph winds. It is constructed with precast concrete structural panels, columns and beams. To add visual interest, the exterior precast concrete panels with have a scored pattern and cast thin brick veneer. The building has an enclosed generator and impact resistant windows and doors.
The building is registered and designed for LEED certification. The mechanical system is geothermal. Restrooms will have dual flush toilets and automatic lavatory faucets. Special parking spaces with electrical recharging stations will be designated for electric powered vehicles.
