Pensacola Downtown Library Addition

   The Pensacola Downtown Library project is a 25,000 square foot addition and complete renovation to the existing 26,000 square foot library. The new Library is a prominent Pensacola landmark that reflects the historical buildings of downtown Pensacola as well as providing a state of the art community facility.

During the course of preliminary design for the new Pensacola Downtown Library, our design team held open meetings for public input as well as meetings with board members and staff to determine the building space program. After gathering information from the participants, we then presented floor plans and exterior design options in an open public forum. The team also presented final designs to the City Council and Downtown Improvement Board.

During construction administration we worked closely with the Library Director, the City’s Project manager, and the General Contractor to resolve any issues as they arose, reviewed product submittals, reviewed pay applications, and observed construction for conformance to the project specifications. The building achieved LEED Silver certification.
