The Pensacola Police Headquarters Expansion and Renovation project was a complex multi-phased project that expanded the Police Station by 9200 square feet and renovated 33,000 square feet of existing space. Renovation work included new HVAC equipment, elevator, office reconfiguration, and interior finishes.
The approach required careful design and planning to allow for the addition and renovations to occur while the Police Headquarters remained open and functional. Critical services such as the 911 call center and the City of Pensacola servers were not interrupted during the construction. The construction project consisted of 3 phases to allow the Police Headquarters' staff to stay in the building and move to each new and renovated section as it was completed.
During the construction administration phase, the team reviewed pay applications, change orders and schedules, and met with the contractor and subcontractors to resolve conflicts and questions in a timely manner. We worked with the Police Headquarters staff, the City’s Project Manager, and the Building Contractor during the construction to help provide minimal disruption to the Police Headquarters functions. The final result is an expansion project that transitions seamlessly with the original building.
Completed: January 2018
